You probably haven't given your colon a great deal of thought, unless you've ever had to prep for a colonoscopy. Now, I'm going to ask you to look at your colon in a whole new way.  It's the key to experiencing true emotional digestion. So what's emotional digestion?

If you've read my book, Life Shift, you already know that you have not just one but four bodies: emotional, spiritual, mental AND physical.

When your emotional body is out of balance - through stress, trauma, resentment, etc. -- it has a direct affect on the physical body.  In fact, your emotional body is the gatekeeper to the physical, mental and spiritual bodies.  So an emotional body imbalance, has a direct impact not just on your physical health, it blocks your mental body from maintaining a positive, unlimited perspective.

I've been doing emotional release work for over 35 years, and in both my own personal process, as well as with thousands of my clients, I have found that colonics are an integral force in the healing process for many people. The colonics work in concert with the release of emotional and mental blocks.

As the colon detoxes physically, you can actually get in touch with negative belief systems, childhood imprints and traumas, that affect the body's ability (or inability) to eliminate waste. Negative emotions create acid in your body, therefore it is imperative to work to physically clear that acid, as well as to emotionally and mentally detox your body too.

If you're feeling a deep sense of rejection and loss, and you're working to clear that in your emotional body, while you're having a colonic, you can actually simultaneously clear those imprints, and old stored traumas. You can shift into a positive, empowering feeling about yourself, your environment, etc.  This can be a powerful catalyst to start to vibrate to new heights of positive action and creativity.

Without a doubt, I'm a huge advocate for healthy eating, supplements and using all of today's incredible resources to rejuvenate the body. But all the carrot juice or green drinks in the world won't matter much if you're holding on tight to resentment, anger, and trauma. Taking vitamins and veggie drinks will indeed raise your vibrational rate.  But emotional detox/digestion plays a tremendous role as well. Think of your best intentions for diet as if they are crabs trying to crawl out of a bucket; negative and mental blocks are like those pesky other crabs, that keep pulling each other down.

In addition to our four bodies, we also have 7 energy centers or chakras (shown in this photo) The colon energetically exists in 3 different chakras -- 1, 2 and 3. The first chakra represents survival and feeling safe, the second represents self-expression, sexual energy, and manifesting money, and the third is your sense of power in the world. Just imagine how a fully functioning healthy colon creates the foundation for everything else to flow in your life!

Please join me and the fabulous Tracy Piper at Organic Avenue, The Space of Love, in lower Manhattan on July 10, 2012, for a phenomenal 2-hour intensive, where you'll learn all about emotional digestion, CLICK HERE for all the details!

Love and blessings,

As many of you have recently discovered, I've been focusing on inspiring people to Be Ageless.  Many of you may imagine that's about exercise, vitamins, and green-tinted healthy shakes -- and it partially is -- but one of the greatest keys to agelessness might surprise you: resilience.

To me, there's no better recent example of this that Sharon Stone. For many, the Basic Instinct actress seemed to live a perfect, problem-free existence: she's an iconic Hollywood beauty, smart, wealthy and passionate about life. Famously, Stone has helped raise enormous amounts of money for all kinds of charities and causes throughout the world, and her energy seemed boundless.

But as I discovered in the February/March issue of AARP magazine, Stone has been, like all of us, hit by enormous challenges and obstacles in her life, including the breakup of her marriage, a custody battle for her child (which she eventually lost), and some serious health issues as well.

For Stone, who's now in her 50s (and still gorgeous), to be so forthright and brave in sharing her life's challenges really resonated with me. I mean, who hasn't had challenges in life? Wealth, beauty and fame certainly don't provide a protective barrier, as the heart-breaking death of Whitney Houston recently makes all too clear.

And that brings me back to resilience, which is how you view, handle and process life's inevitable challenges. I've certainly had mine--and how! For example, my brother Curtis Sliwa was shot and seriously wounded (thankfully he survived), and my road to motherhood in my 50s was long and challenging -- I had to do it solo or not at all. So my own journey has certainly been peppered with disappointments, setbacks, and forks in the road. That's life.

But for all of us, the more you can learn from trauma, release it, and focus on healing and moving forward, you will not only become stronger, but it also kicks in the Universal Law of resilience. We are all wired to rebound, find the opportunity rather than the loss, and spring back to life even stronger than before.

That's why resilience is my first heavy-duty key to agelessness. No matter what happens, that's when you go deep inside, really love yourself and tap into that Source energy within, and find meaning in your life.

By doing this, you're constantly creating something new, and thus, regenerating yourself. You become on artist of life -- your life. By creating anew, you're also triggering regeneration via new belief systems, new people, and new opportunities that give you new energy.

Agelessness is not about having a stress-free, happy go lucky life. It's about how you perceive what's going on, and what you do to positively shift what comes into your life, that matters. There's a whole chapter about transformation in my book, Life Shift (page 105), that talks about turning fear into courage, doubt into belief, and regrets into possibilities.

Remember, those inevitable bumps and bruises, when perceived as normal parts of life -- and not something to fight against -- can serve to stimulate your life Source energy. Rather than using that energy to resist what is happening, which drains your energy and ages you, embrace it all, and work with the opportunities for change they create. You’ll find newfound energy, revitalization and youth.

Take a moment and write down a few examples of a recent bump in your own life's road -- a broken relationship, lost job, etc. -- and notice if there's anger, resentment or sadness you need to release, so you can see the opportunity the lies behind it.

Tap into your in-born resilience and you'll be free to create something new, and even better, in the process.

Blessings,

Aleta

Aleta on Agelessness -- at ANY Age!

UPDATED Feb. 22 (with Special Audio Preview of Be Ageless! below - FULL audio program now available in Aleta's store)

Though my 'down time' is limited these days, due to spending the majority of my time running a bustling private energy healing practice and chasing after 7-year-old twins, I managed to catch a glimpse of the recent Golden Globe awards on television.

I couldn’t help but notice the high-profile actresses of my generation – such as Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda, and Helen Mirren – who remain so vital and stunning well into their 60s.
I found myself shouting out, “Yes, we can!” I know many of you have heard me talk so passionately about my belief in 'winding up, not down' at any age, and this just confirmed what I already knew to be true.

Later, I saw this Facebook post from the amazing Christiane Northrup, who I totally love and respect (she wrote a wonderful blurb on the back cover of my book, Life Shift), also marveling at these wonderful role models and actresses, and it further validated what I know and live by. Christiane wrote:

“I predict that were going to see more of this kind of midlife beauty, health and talent in the media in the years to come. Remember, each of us is profoundly affected, body, mind, and spirit by what we believe is possible for us. And these women are just plain inspiring!!”

Are they ever! I know what it’s like to be in the spotlight due to age. When I had my twins (Francesca and Gian, pictured with me above) at age 57, there was a media frenzy that saw me interviewed by the likes of Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and many other high profile reporters. Becoming a mother in my later 50s became both a celebration and controversy, but in my mind, being a mother was my destiny, and age had nothing to do with it.

My grandmother had my mother at age 54, so I had no mental prejudice at all about the limitations of age. That’s why I’m so excited and passionate about my focus on inspiring and teaching agelessness at any age, as a way of life. It’s not enough to just think young and act young, it’s about encompassing the mind, body and spirit in the ‘winding up, not down’ process.

The truth is, at 64, I have as much energy as ever, but I have to really take care of my nutrition, release stress, and connect into my spiritual meditations, to revitalize myself, more than ever. Agelessness is a way of life that requires all dimensions of ourselves working in concert with each other.

I know staying young is a daunting task against the backdrop of this youth-obsessed society (where 30 is often viewed as a time for mandatory hip replacement!). That’s why I am developing a whole series of audio meditations to support your efforts (watch for an announcement soon-- in the meantime, listen to the free SAMPLE of Be Ageless! Affirmations, below), and create a major shift in global ideas about aging.

Now it’s your turn. What helps you feel ageless? Is it a romantic night with your partner? A great workout? Meditation? Or something else? Let’s share our ideas with each other, and begin the process of focusing on our agelessness, energetic selves, as our real selves.

Agelessness is one of my major themes for 2012, and beyond, so let’s get started!

Almost everyone starts off the first few weeks of a new year with great intentions and excitement, and then slowly but surely, the enthusiasm starts to wane. Sounds familiar, right?

You don't have to have that happen this year.

When I work with my clients on setting their intentions for the New Year, what gets extraordinary results is helping them set up their intentions with I Am mantras.

Some examples of how to use the I Am mantras are:

I Am in a committed, loving relationship with a partner who I totally adore and who totally adores me.
I Am experiencing financial success.

The I Am mantra puts you in the consciousness of having already received your deepest dreams and desires. It is a very strong message to the universe and has created extraordinary results in my clients' lives and in my personal life.

However, during the process of creating the next shift in your life, sometimes it is hard to maintain that positive feeling in the I Am mantra context. You might experience disappointments and setbacks on your journey, which can give you the feeling of being tired and doubting whether it will ever happen. That is normal. But, what you can do is to start to shift your emotional energy by using I Want mantras:

Some examples of how to use the I Want mantra could be:

I want  more support for my daily challenges, now!
I want this situation to change, now!
I want a partner worthy of me, now!

Use the power of your anger or frustration that you feel as you declare them, state it, and let it go. The more you claim from the assertive I want energy, the stronger you will feel.  You'll be amazed at how this moves the energy forward so you can connect freely again to the I Am mantras.

Also, if you're still feeling lost in the phase of not knowing what you really want in your career, relationships, where you want to live, etc., simply affirm What you DO know right now. For example:

What I DO know is, I want a better relationship.
What I DO know is, I want an even more beautiful place to life.
WHAT I DO know is, I want more love in my life.
What I DO know is, I want a career that's creative, exciting, and monetizes my value.

Be sure to state all the positives, What you DO know you want, so your mind starts to lock in on certainty, rather than confusion, or duality. You will begin to feel more confident in your ability to find your way. Remember that out of chaos comes clarity, and in order to experience change, you also need to become comfortable with the unknown as things shift and change. Stating mantras of What I DO know will anchor and ground you as you shift and glide towards your future.

The I want and What I DO know approaches will help you then you feel flat, or tired and uninspired, so you can shift that energy and get back on track.

You absolutely deserve to live the greatest year of your life in 2012, so don't let temporary blips get in your way.

Please leave your comments/thoughts/questions and discuss with your friends and family; supporting others in their 2012 intentions and goals will help fuel your own.

Blessings,

Aleta

With Thanksgiving week upon us, I want to share this brief but powerful video discussing the key to creating abundance--gratitude. We all desire and seek more abundance in all its forms, but so often, we simultaneously focus on what we don't have in our lives. As Dana discovered first-hand in her own career, a simple shift to appreciation and gratitude for what you DO have can create major shifts in your life.

What can you focus on this week that's great in your life? What blessings do you possess, right now? Leave your comments, and let the gratitude begin!

Blessings,

Aleta

Hi everyone,

Unless you unplug your TV and/or computer, it's almost impossible to avoid Kim Kardashian these days. But there's a clear and powerful lesson behind her very public wedding fiasco, which I discuss with my friend Dana in the video below. When it comes to romance, are you seeking approval, or true love? Is your life being controlled by your own 'momager' figure, or are you living from your own heart?

Also, these Life Shift Network videos will be a regular feature going forward, so what topics would you be most interested in seeing? Think about your own relationships, finances, health, or any other issue of concern, and let me know where you'd like a Life Shift, and watch for more videos soon!

Blessings,

Aleta

Forget Aging, Let's All Be Ageless!

As the leaves fall and the temperatures dip, a feeling of transition and change in definitely in the air. But this month is marking more than just a change in the seasons -- it's chock full of birthdays!

Several very close friends, not to mention myself AND my beloved twins, Gian and Francesca (pictured with me, below, at their recent birthday party), are all celebrating our birthdays in November, so it's an ideal time to discuss something we all have strong opinions and feelings about-- aging.

But in my way of thinking, I prefer the term ageless. As anyone who knows me is aware, age to me is just a number. Even after my 50th birthday, when I felt so strongly it was the time for me to become a mother, I had no doubt I would do it--age was simply not going to stop me. I knew in my heart I was destined to have my children, and my body would support me to fulfill my destiny. My gorgeous twins are now 7 years old, and I'm proud to say, I'm now 64, and have never felt more vibrant and excited about life. Focusing on the life force energy within is the key to agelessness.

A dear friend of mine celebrated his 60th last week, and he's such an inspiration. Over lunch one day, he noted his philosophy about aging: "The mind is the body's most powerful anti-aging tool," he says, "you can eat right, take vitamins, but your mind comes first in staying and feeling young." "You must consciously decide not to age," he added. "There is a big core level of acceptance in our society that accepts aging as in inevitability, and it's as permeating and false as the earth is flat. But it's just as false." How true!

My friend is a wonderful example of this; he's perpetually youthful in his thoughts, actions and interactions; he truly seems ageless. So many people have accepted that 'aging' is inevitable, and go about their lives living out the programs, beliefs and ideals that our parents, families, teachers, society socioeconomic background, etc., instilled in us. Too often, those programs are negative, and virtually ignore the unlimited source energy of our authentic self. That miracle energy I talk so often about. But have you ever decided for yourself, beyond that old programming, what YOU believe about aging? More and more studies are telling us that our DNA is directly affected by our thoughts, and beliefs, and that the mind-body connection is more than merely spiritual -- it's science.

I can tell you from personal experience, that this is true: Joy, fulfillment, success and happiness simply do not have an age, and every day, I constantly work to come from that Source energy, and one of the keys to my success in helping others transform their lives, is to help them connect to their Source energy. As we hold that miracle energy within our body, we can literally start to reverse the aging process, and that's further amplified with the cutting-edge anti-aging technologies such as telomeres, growth hormone, and embryonic cell treatment, that is now becoming more available to the general public, coupled with energy work, body work, supplements and various detoxification therapies. A recent book I contributed to, The Immortality Edge, is also great resource, and I go into detail about this amazing resource here.

Armed with these new resources, I've seen first-hand people in their 50s, 60s and 70s, winning ball room dance contests and competing in triathlons.

And as I look into my own future, I am reminded of all the incredible women who are so vibrant and living big lives in their 70s and 80s -- such as Jane Fonda and Louise Hay, to name just a few -- and I'm even more excited by my future. I truly believe the best is yet to come.

So what do YOU believe about aging? Is there a abiding passion in your life, that makes you want to stay young and vital? Too many people walk around so disconnected from their true self, that they can feel half-dead as they go through life. Who wants to feel ageless when life is so painful, right? But when you can truly feel that inner life force, your intrinsic inner self, propelling you on, and living in that joy right now, you're well on your way to agelessness.

Take some time now, meditate, be quiet and really be honest with yourself. What beliefs come up for you about aging? Write it down in a journal, and share any thoughts in the 'comments' section, your insight can be of great benefit to yourself, and others.

Whenever I've had people ask me if having children at such a late age was selfish, because I wouldn't be able to be with them later in life, my response is to laugh to myself, and with a twinkle in my eye say, "I'm going to live to 120!" I'm betting I can do just that.

Blessings,

Aleta

Lack of time, multitasking, continuous learning, and no time to even jump in the shower ... do any of those ring a bell for all of you parents out there?

As the single mother of 7-year-old twins, I can certainly relate! That’s why I’m so delighted to showcase several videos – including THIS recent interview I did, below  -- featuring the wonderfully talented, New York City-based duo, married couple and new parents, singer/songwriter Amelia S. Gewirtz and musician/songwriter/producer Harold Stephan, who are breaking ground in the new arena of parenting music.

In my energy healing practice, I worked with this amazing couple as they tried to ‘get pregnant’ and eventually, the happy result was their beautiful son, Adam. As new parents, Amelia and Harold were inspired to create their fabulous and innovative website and CD, amusingly and lovingly titled, Parents With Angst. Their work is a tremendously creative parental resource, loaded with multi-faceted information and great music. Check it out HERE.

Their great new music CD features standout songs inspired by their first-hand journey raising Adam, featuring such songs as – don’t you love this title? -- Mommy’s Gotta Hop in the Shower. As their website so aptly describes, their music features, “hints of folk rock and family-inspired tunes,” that create “an undeniable connection with listeners.”

The Parents With Angst website also features video interviews with parenting experts and celebrities who discuss key topics regarding raising children. Throughout these webisodes, select songs from the CD related to the topics discussed are seamlessly interwoven.

So fellow parents, what song title would best describe your adventures in parenting? Leave your ideas and other comments below, and let’s discuss! OK, time for this mom to hop in the shower now...

Blessings,

 Aleta
