Meditation with intention has been a huge part of my life and work for more than 35 years, as my friends, family, thousands of clients and, most recently, our Summer Reboot camp participants are well aware of.
So I was tremendously excited to see the news recently from the University of California Los Angeles, where researchers discovered and announced to the world that regular meditation actually helps to slow the progression of AIDS. The mind body connection is real, people!
Science is now touting meditation as a powerful, complementary tool in combating this disease, but of course I’m not at all surprised. My life’s work is about using meditation along with intention to heal the physical, emotional and mental bodies and bring in the healing spiritual energy that will help you create the success, joy, love and health you deserve.
Regular doses of loving, healing, accepting energy into your body and subconscious do alter you at a cellular level. I explain this in detal in my book “Life Shift” and practice in private sessions with my clients. I’ve seen it time after time and I truly believe that anything is possible!
Ironically, before the meditation study came out, I had recorded a healing meditation aimed at people living with HIV for the website gayhealth.com, which is available here. Meditation has been around for thousands of years, but it’s great to see that science is catching up and people can get past their preconceived notions and use this amazing healing tool.
As summer winds down and we enjoy these last weekends at the beach or on vacation, take some time for yourself, and start your own meditation practice. You’ll be amazed at the changes that take place!

Thank you for posting these meditations Aleta… these bootcamp meditations are helping me to realize two main identities within me that have been in opposition with one another and separated for my entire life. One identity is all light and spirit and one is angry and negative. The darker one is the one who has been in the world for the most part while the one of light has been hiding away deep within me.
I am working with the light to integrate these two identities so that they are working together. I am starting to see that it is not a matter of getting rid of the darker side of me, but to integrate her with the lighter side of me so that they are working together.
I would love to see others respond on this blog about their experiences with integrating their inner identities. That would help a lot… blessings and best to all.

hi monalisa, i totally hear ya i have the same duality going on, and the less i fight anything i dont like, the less power it has over my energy, and im finding too that ‘reality’ is different for all of us, and that’s normal and also a great reason to feel free to start choosing more positive views of what’s around us, if we all have such widely different opinions on the exact same thing or person, then clearly we can all choose to view a situation as we like—why not find the best in a situation, if we get that choice?
