NY Post-script: What Dreams Are You Holding On To?
After many hours of being interviewed, videoed, and trailed by the New York Post, I'm pleased to be able to share with you the final products, which hit the newsstands August 1.
One never knows how these things will turn out--will I be portrayed as Glenda the Good or Bad Witch?--but I was very pleased with the story and the video (below), and I hope it brings a smile to your heart.
It's amazing when I look back at my whole journey (check out my 196 lbs. self on the front page of the Post's rival, The New York Daily News, back in 2004) to having Gian and Francesca, how much pit bull determination, unwavering belief and inner strength I needed to muster when people told me I was crazy, the odds were against me, etc. I would always answer them, either silently or to their face, "just watch me."

ent let my belief waver, because I knew deep in my heart I was meant to have these children. So now I want to ask you this: What dreams do you desire deep in your heart, that you simply must create and experience, that you know is part of your destiny?
Use the 'comments' section to declare your dreams, desires and destiny, as much or as little as you're comfortable with, as a means of reigniting your passion to have them. I'll check in soon to read them!
It's important, because it's easy to get worn down by the naysayers, circumstance, or even the heat of the Dog Days of August, and that's only natural. But it's essential to have your own moment of "just watch me" in your life, to reboot and reframe your heart's desire.

Dear Aleta, First let me say that quotes always inspire me, when I need it.. How wonderful about your twins. I have two lovely boys that are the light of my day. My dream and has been since I was 5 is to entertain on stage(singing) and the big screen. I know that I was born to do this. Most importantly to be vehicle to help in a larger capacity. I know it will happen, just trusting the universe with my intention. It is my love and passion, besides my lovely boys. Thanks you for sharing and allowing me to share. :)

Hi,I read your book and found it very inspiring!!!!! You look amazing and your kids are gorgeous!!!!! I loved the interview!!!!! I have 4 kids and know how much money and energy they take. It doesn’t matter how old anyone is ,alot of the experiences are the same. Blessings,Sara

Dearest Aleta,
Your cousin Steve (Butchie) sent me the article in the Post. My whole family is amazed at the inner strength you have to have made this wonderful choice at the age that you did. Having had the wonderful parents, brother and sister that you were blessed with for support indeed is a blessing in itself. As time goes on and the twins get older, it will only get better. Also, you have grown more beautiful throughout the years.

What an inspiration you are, Aleta. I admire your determination not to give up on your dream. You have inspired me to not give up on mine. I am in the process of starting my own business. I have tried to start businesses in the past and have failed miserably. I know that I learned something from each “failure” so I shouldn’t even look at it as failing. I need to make it this time because I only have so much money to live on and I do not want to have to get a job. For 25 years I did secretarial work which I hated. Lately, I’ve been having doubts about whether I can make it. Reading about you today and seeing Susan Boyle on Oprah last week has given me a much needed boost. It can still happen for me, and it will happen for me! Thank you. May you and your twins be blessed!

Dear Aleta,
Your book is amazing. You look great! I have dreams of becoming a mother. I’m 43 and I don’t have any children..but I feel now the time is right. You inspire me not to be afraid of the possible financial hardships, which in some ways have stopped me from becoming a mother sooner. Thank you for your gift of encouragement and may you live a long healthy and prosperous life.
